Swimming in Glorietta Bay
Out in the Open Water in Coronado

My workout partner and I decided to take a swim in Glorietta Bay this week. To our surprise, it was a swim with some of the best views in Southern California. As we stood on the small beach in Glorietta Bay Park debating which bouy to swim to we couldn't stop talking about the amazing views of the Coronado Bridge, Coronado Yacht Club and Coronado Golf Course. The weather was absolutely perfect with clear blue skies that allowed you see all the way across the San Diego Bay to the 32 Street Naval Station. We had a good swim that took about a half hour. The closest bouy to the shore is white and is about 500 meters. A more challenging swim is the red bouy which is about 750 meters from the shore, especially in open water. As the sun was setting and the families at Glorietta Bay Park were packing up the children, we made it back. There is a shower available near the bathrooms at the park which makes it's easy to wash the salt water off and go grab a quick bite to eat on Orange Ave. I highly recommend this swim for any beginning open water swimmer. You'll be sure to enjoy yourself.
