Realtors love to talk about themselves. It seems that every real estate website and piece of marketing material is focused on the amazing achievements and traits of a particular agent or broker. Now don’t get us wrong – we understand that a buyer or seller wants to be represented by an established professional. However, real estate is still a people business; all of the accolades and professional designations will not give you, the client, a clear understanding of the level of customer service you will receive until you have an opportunity to meet your consultant in person. The descriptions of our team members below are presented solely to convey that these professionals are dedicated to the highest level of client success through tireless personal service.
Mike Ciampa

Since graduating from UCSB 20 plus years ago in 1993, Mike has been participating in "start ups" and entrepreneurial businesses. By the early 2000's Mike had two successful entrepreneurial projects under his belt. It was at this time that the progression of redevelopment in California's urban cores allowed Mike to take a closer look at the real estate industries of Southern California: San Diego and Los Angeles. As a result, by the middle of 2003, Mike had moved to Downtown San Diego from the Bay Area in Northern California to pursue his interests in Urban Living. New passions that included loft living and urban communities were the two catalysts that encouraged Mike to start his own brokerage that would participate in the urban revitalization and growth of Downtown San Diego. By late 2005, Mike would leave 92101 Residential and establish his own Real Estate brokerage: 92101 Urban Living. The successes generated from the 92101 Urban Living website and the business network it produced would provide the foundation for the growth and development of niche-based websites in Southern California. Both the OC and SD Residential brokerages were developed out of Mike's vision to combine Google ranked community real estate websites with area-specific experts who could provide exceptional customer service to prospective buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants. The company's initial goal was to provide easily accessible information on the websites, and then support this with exceptional customer service from a qualified community expert.
Currently, 92101 Urban Living is the top-ranked website for residential real estate in Downtown San Diego on all major search engines. Dating all the way back to 1999, only 92101 Urban Living and 1 other website have been successful in obtaining this top placement. Today, Mike continues to live and work out of the East Village in Downtown San Diego with his wife, daughter, and newborn son.
Matt Cabrera

Matt Cabrera is the current Managing Broker of SD Residential. Through commitment, loyalty, and experience Matt has proven to be an integral addition to the collaborative environment and growth of both SD and OC Residential. Matt first entered his real estate career during one of the worst housing markets ever seen in the United States...2008. However, Matt's determination to succeed made the risk worth taking when he was given an opportunity to put his entrepreneurial passions and love of client service/relationships to work with his new role as a Real Estate Consultant with SD Residential. One of Matt's endearing qualities is his selflessness when it comes to others. This trait would pair perfectly with the SD Residential ideal to always put the client ahead of the deal. Matt is passionate about providing exceptional customer service within the scope of the SD Residential-Coronado team concept; he tirelessly goes above and beyond to assist the team, and ensure that the mission and emphasis on collaboration becomes a habit, not a chore. Matt has worked his way up from a Real Estate Consultant/Agent to his current leadership position in management as a Broker...All the while, continuing to push himself to be a better specialist and collaborator.
Sofia Martin

Born and raised in Sweden, Sofia moved to the United States in 2003 with a goal of obtaining a top rate education that would eventually support a successful career. The transition to a new country and a new culture was not easy...it never is. Sofia went from working for a commercial real estate company, and at the same time working nights and weekends to generate consistent income. For a short time she even accepted the position as an au pair for a family in Atlanta in order to learn the language and traditions of American way of living. Sofia jumped at the chance to move to San Diego when she was accepted into San Diego State University. With a one- way ticket and two fully packed suitcases…the Little Italy neighborhood in Downtown San Diego became the new place to call home. While attending San Diego State University, Sofia majored in Real Estate. This education was instrumental in forming the foundation of her real estate knowledge and experience. Additionally, it was a way for Sofia to continue on the family real estate business she had learned before leaving Sweden. Following a short post- graduate position with a small Residential Broker in San Diego, Sofia made the jump to 92101 Urban Living. Starting as an administrative assistant, it was clear that Sofia was on her way to bigger and better things. With her impressive work ethic and upward momentum, Sofia was able to earn her broker's license and take over as head of the Executive team at 92101 Urban Living. Known for her tireless dedication to clients, administrative organization, and positive attitude...Sofia is the foundation of all the "day to day" activity of the websites and SD/OC Residential real estate offices. We are lucky to have her on the team, and it is hard to imagine a fully functional company without her efforts.
